The January Polar Bear camp out was an interesting if not different camp out than all the other polar bears. This was because it was one at a different campsite. We usually have it at Camp Tapico, but due to closing of the camp we had to move to our summer camp home, Camp Rotary. To add on to that, there was also no snow. Well, no good snow. All the snow was wet, heavy and slushy. Not good for building snow mounds at all. Instead we all slept in tents outside. That means everybody, we didn’t have a choice to sleep outside or inside everybody slept outside in tents. During the day since we weren’t building quinzees we had to do other activities. Many of the scouts worked on rank advancement to fill the time gaps. All in all, it was a very interesting and new way of doing the polar bear.
